Things to Do in May: Food and Fitness Events

These round ups are so fun for me. I love sharing events, especially those that tend to be under the radar. Since there’s so much going on this weekend alone, I thought I’d include any new events with my May events.

1. Bandier Pop Up, April 29-30
Bandier invites you to two days full of free workouts, complimentary sips and bites, giveaways and more. Check out the schedule below for class times and get in yoga, Pilates, barre, boxing and more. 2. Lorna Jane Warehouse Sale, April 28- May 1
Thursday through Sunday, you can stop by The Space and take advantage of the Lorna Jane Warehouse sale. You can also take advantage of the free fitness classes and sign up for any of them here.

3. LFT Personal Training Grand Opening Party, Saturday April 30th
LFT celebrates it’s grand opening this weekend with an open house from 10am-1pm. . Families are welcome to attend and meet with trainers, check out the gym, and more. They are having a bounce house, local vendors including chair massages! Prizes and light snacks.


4. Dallasites101 Anniversary Party @ The Grove, April 30th 1-7pm
Dallasites101 is hosting their anniversary party this weekend at The Grove in Harwood District. It’s free to attend and enjoy discounted food and drinks. They are also hosting a volleyball competition with sponsored gifts from Hari Mari Vita Coco Coconut WaterStudioHop, Poopourri, Dallas Zoo, Ruthie’s Food Trucks and Reunion Tower for the winning team. 5. V Market Pop Up, Saturday May 7th, 10am
Stop by this Vegan pop up at Local Press and Brew. Enjoy vegan food, ethical and unique shopping and support local businesses! Check out what vendors will be there and more info here.

6. Farmers Branch Market Opening, Saturday May 7 @ 8am
The Farmers Branch Market celebrates their grand opening and invites you to check out all their vendors for this event. There will also be a mimosa bar, Dough Boy Donuts Food Truck, a free gift to everyone who comes out. Enjoy live entertainment, kids activities and more!

7. Taste of Addison, Fri-Sun May 13-15
Taste Addison is back! Sample from over 30+ restaurants in Addison Circle, for this 3 day food fest. Enjoy a live performance from The Band Perry. Advance tickets are $15. Learn more here.



8. Barre and Bites, Saturday May 21 @ 9AM
Bloggers Barre In Your Bedroom and The Ginger Marie Blog are bringing you Barre & Bites on the Continental Bridge, next to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Tickets are $20 and they get you a killer barre class, refreshments, bites, prizes, and it all benefits the Movemeant Foundation. You can grab tickets here.


9. Plant Forward Dinner and Cocktail Pairing, Monday, May 23 @ 7pm
Join The Harvest Hands for a beautiful night filled with fun, food and friendship at Stock & Barrel. Enjoy a four course meal with a carefully curated hand crafted cocktail paired with each course. Snag your ticket here.

10. Yoga at Community Beer Co, Saturday May 28 @ 10AM
Yoga. Beer. Sounds like my kind of morning. Join my girl Shanne of Cube Fit Yoga as she leads an all-levels yoga class at Community Beer Company. For $15, enjoy her class and a pint of beer. You can snag your tickets here. Bring your mat!


11. Thai Culture and Food Festival, Saturday May 28th
Immerse yourself in Thai culture at this free festival. Head to the Buddhist Center of Dallas to experience Thai foods, classical Thai dance performances, Thai boxing and more.


12. Trinity River Paddlefest, Monday May 30th @ 12pm
Backwoods Paddlesports at Panther Island Rentals is kicking off the summer paddling season with a paddling festival at Panther Island Pavilion with free kayak and paddleboard demos. Enjoy half-price kayak, paddleboard, and canoe rentals; live music; food; beer and more.
