Now that we are officially in December i.e. cold, dreary, and rainy weather, I always find myself craving a piping hot bowl of pho. It’s the Vietnamese equivalent to noodle soup for the soul. It’s one of my favorite comfort foods that’ll warm me up on bitterly cold days, when I’m sick, and is a perfect cure for hangovers 😀
I’m sharing some of my favorite Dallas pho restaurants along with recommendations from friends who definitely know their pho. Every time I see a list of “best pho restaurants in Dallas,” the list always fails to include some of these hidden gems that have been serving locals for decades. I’m personally not a fan of American renditions of pho. It never fails to disappoint me in both flavor and price. What should cost you no more than $7-$8 will go for $13. Yeah…not about that life. These are classic hole in the wall restaurants with lots of character and no frills. Most of them don’t even have websites.
If you want a taste of real pho and dare to venture into Asia town, I’ve got five spots to get your pho fix plus two honorable mentions. I’m a fan of the sliced beef and meatballs in mine with lots of Sriracha. How about you?

I have never had Pho before. I used to get made fun of everytime I used to say “Foh” instead of “Fah” lol Thats how you pronounce it right? lol I have to check out one of these locations one day. I love noodle soup!
Let me take you!!! It’s pronounce “Fuh” and is so good and comforting.
Yes take me take me!! Let me know when you go next time! Lol I heard there is a special way to eat it! Lol
i have only had at few places and its always been soo delicious. there was a place in irving in belt line road where i used to go all the time. i will think of these places when im in dallas next.
I am so in love with this post! I am going to now go on a Pho tour! Living29 on instagram is soon going to be selling and delivering what I am sure will be an amazing Pho Kit!
F.YES. We usually do Miss Chi [I know I know] because it’s close to DT, or Pho Mac if we’re in Plano…. but this, this list is what Pho dreams are made of.
I have the same problem getting my fix since i live in East Dallas. I’ll go to Vietnam Restaurant on Bryan street sometimes, but I usually make the trek to richardson. I’ve heard great things about Pho Mac!
Is Pho Mac where the Pho 2828 used to be next to the Dollar Movies? I haven’t been in Plano in 3 years.
Hey you didn’t hit Tarrant County in your “DFW”. Pho V in Bedford is amazing AND gets very high reviews from the local health inspector on their cleanliness, which means as much as flavor! It’s the only place I take my family for pho.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll add it to my list of new pho places to try.
You are spot on!!! Love them on. Pho bang’s pork plate is delicious too!
I love that you know about Pho Bang. It’s definitely a popular spot.
I recently discovered a new Pho restaurant, Pho Bay, in Plano. It’s AMAZING. I love it and I think it’s even better than Saigon Block in Richardson. As you can see, I think you missed two great restaurants 🙂
I’ve had Saigon Block’s pho before, but didn’t love it. It was good and thought it was on par with a lot of other restaurants. Usually when I go, it’s for their gigantic catfish. So delish! I’ve never heard of Pho Bay though! I’ll have to try that out too!
Pho is some of the most comforting food to eat on a cold, rainy night. I live in Carrollton and Pho Bistro off Old Denton is SOOO good!.
oooh! That’s close to where I work so that’s going on my list! This was a list of my personal favorites but Im always open to trying new places too. Thanks for commenting.
Pho crimson in uptown!!!! The curry one is divine!!!!!! Grab the spring rolls or potstickers to start off with !!!!! Super yum!
Pho Bang gets my vote. Been regularly going there for a while.
Agreed!
So glad you put this list together! I love Pho and always crave it when I’m sick! I will definitely be checking out the one in Irving since I live in Valley Ranch!
