If it’s one thing I love about Bishop Arts is that everything is in a three block radius: lunch, dinner, dessert, coffee, drinks. You don’t have to go far to satisfy any kind of hunger or craving you might have.
I’ve come to find that when my entire meal is broken up by restaurants, I tend to have the most fun. Lunch at one place, dessert at another, coffee somewhere else… That’s when a casual lunch turns into a pretty awesome foodie adventure.

For dessert, IG food porn amateur phileats_ and I walked our happy butts toward Emporium Pies in the heart of Bishop Arts. Oh man…I love pie. Especially warm pie with ice cream. We tried the Strawberry Fields and the Lord of the Pies.
Strawberry Fields sounds just like what you’d expect. A lovely tart strawberry pie with an awesome two scoop serving of ice cream to create the best duo. The Lord of the Pies is an apple pie with crunchy cinnamon streusel. Apple pie is one of my favorites and this pie did not skimp on the apple filling. According to the site, they use about 20 apples per pie.
The Drunken Nut
For a mother’s day treat, I actually went back the next day and bought The Drunken Nut for my mom. It is a bourbon pecan pie and my favorite out of the three that I tried. The bourbon flavor is very light. Not overpowering at all and works quite wonderfully into the profile of the pecans. So good…I took a bite before I gave it to my mom. ehehe… Sorry. I lack self control around pie.
Emporium Pies resides in a cute house-turned-pie-heaven. I think it’s a perfect way to end a lunch or dinner date. Each slice is about $5 and you can also order coffees or teas. They have a quaint front porch with stools if the weather permits a nice chat over pie outside. Definitely worth a visit. I’d recommend visiting during odd hours. The line can go out door.
